If you are afraid of going to the dentist, you are not alone. Many people count a fear of dental services worse than a fear of heights, a fear of dogs or speaking in public. What is it about dentistry and other health services that causes people so much anxiety? And how can a person overcome these fears?
Everyone wants their teeth and mouth to be in good health and few will deny that a trip to see the dentist now and then is important. If you do not maintain good oral care, how can you expect to have a healthy smile, free from germs, cavities and bad breath? Even if it is scary to you, if you avoid general dentistry you will sooner or later require even more serious dental care. If you wait until it is an emergency, you may need more than dental services, you many need medicine services or worse, cancer services.
